Welcome to the website of David Dotson, Freelance Illustrator, Sculptor, and Wanderer.

     Born 1974, I cannot ever remember not drawing. I devoured the fantasy artwork of Frank Frazetta, Keith Parkinson, and Larry Elmore, right along with classic artists like Bouguereau,  Picasso, and Rubens.  My brother and I grew up on Myths and Sci-Fi tales and those stories have resonated with me throughout my life. 
     After serving in the Army I went on to get my BFA from Miami University and several years later also received my MFA.  Professionally my artwork has been shown both nationally and internationally, with my works in both public and private collections.  I  have helped create animal exhibits for the Cincinnati Zoo, worked as an artist in a custom steel works shop, and spent 10 years as an assistant preparator at an art museum.
